GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky to Launch “Ice Cream and Cotton Candy” Capsule in Singapore for Summer 2017

SINGAPOREGUESS Originals, an initiative developed by GUESS and AWGE, partners GUESS with leading icons at the forefront of fashion, entertainment, art and design to bring the much-awaited capsule collection in conjunction with multi-disciplined recording artist, A$AP Rocky. Making its way into selected GUESS outlets this July, the collaboration debuts in Singapore for the first time exclusively with very limited quantities available.

Inspired once again by vintage pieces from the GUESS archives, GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky is back by popular demand. This year, the “Ice Cream and Cotton Candy” collection for Summer 2017 is packed with the collaboration’s signature stripes and offers a clean palette of pastels. With over 35 styles available in the Singapore launch, the capsule unites timeless GUESS designs with a contemporary flair. Whilst the previous GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky collection featured mostly unisex styles; the Summer 2017 assortment will include many pieces exclusively for women. A$AP Rocky’s fond childhood memories of GUESS clothing combined with his vision of modernizing vintage items with new colorways results in a unique twist.

From a starting price point of SGD $89 for apparel, the Summer “Ice Cream and Cotton Candy” collection reigns supreme to pastel pinstripes and logo tees, drawing on fashion trends revived from the 80s and 90s. Denim is at the forefront of this capsule offering high and low-rise bell bottoms, button-down and zip-front miniskirts, vintage rocker 1981 skinny jeans, dungarees, 90s icon and cropped boxy jackets as well as baggy high waist jeans in a classic medium wash. GUE$$ logo-mania tees make a splash on mock-neck shirts, short-sleeved maxis and half-sleeve dresses as well as boxy ringer crop tops and oversized retro tees. One-piece black and white bathing suits stamped with the notable GUE$$ triangle logo are accompanied by an array of two-piece triangle and push-up bikinis splashed with striped patterns and solid pastels.

Led by A$AP Rocky, the visuals for the campaign were shot and directed by his creative group, AWGE.

The GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky “Ice Cream and Cotton Candy” Summer Collection will be available at selected GUESS boutiques in Singapore from July 8 2017 onwards.
